I am pleased to attach this week’s ‘Candlemas’ edition of KIT. 40 days after Christmas (2 February) we celebrate The Feast of Candlemas, or the Presentation of Christ in the Temple when the young Jesus is presented by his parents at the Temple for the first time. On Page 3, Annette shares her thoughts on Candlemas and our Gospel is taken from the second chapter of Luke.
You will see in the KIT that Sunday 30 January is a fifth Sunday and, therefore, Benefice Songs of Praise will take place at 10.30 am, Southoe.
Keep an eye open for Mel’s regular monthly mid-week YouTube service, Annette’s Benefice YouTube service which will be with you for the first Sunday of the month (Sunday 6 February) and our next live-stream service from St James’ Church will be on Sunday 13 February.
Keeping in Touch Edition 93
I have pleasure in attaching this week’s KIT in which we have The Gospel for the Third Sunday after Epiphany (Luke Chapter 4 v 14-21) when Jesus gives a short speech to the synagogue congregation from his hometown of Nazareth and bases his words on the book of the prophet Isaiah and tells people that he has come to bring good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed. Mel Eyeons, our Licensed Lay Minister reflects on our Gospel reading on Page 3 of the KIT. Thank you Mel.

Please find attached this week’s KIT for the Second Sunday after Epiphany in which we have the Gospel John 2 v 1-11 when Jesus changes water into wine. Annette also gives us her thoughts on this Sunday’s theme and provides the latest information for the benefice.
Keeping in Touch Edition 91
I confirm that Annette will be continuing to produce her YouTube services for the 1st Sunday of each month, beginning on Sunday 6 February. However, rest assured, you will still be able to keep in touch and be part of our worship at St James’ Church on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays as we have great news…… from tomorrow, we are ‘live-streaming’ our Sunday services via YouTube! Woohoo!
As this is going to be the first time we go ‘live’ please forgive us if things don’t completely go to plan! Hopefully, the link will go ‘live’ at 9.10 am and the service will begin at 9.15 am. To join us, simply type into the google search box …. ‘Little Paxton church live stream’ and you should be directed to YouTube. I shall (for the first couple of weeks) be sending out a direct link after the service to assist those who have been unable to view. Do hope you can join us!
