LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
We are pleased to share a sweet poem written by Veronica Gunton of Little Paxton:
'We are all in this together' by Veronica Gunton
We're in the 'dangerous' age group, So inside we have to stay,
We've had to think of things to do, To while away the day.
Our friends have been so very kind, And fetched food from the store,
Our Son-in-Law is working hard, To get us plenty more.
The garden's looking very good, It's been a massive feat,
I've potted up and split some plants, So the beds are all complete.
We love to watch the bank voles, That come out to eat the grain,
We scatter on the patio, Oh! Here they come again.
The playing field is very close, So a walk we both can take,
Across the field and down Hall Close, To look across the lake.
The gulls are bust nesting, On the island every day,
We hope they are successful, And the otters stay away.
The geese have hatched some goslings, There's 6 and 3 and 2,
They're on the Yacht Club meadow, And the oyster catchers too.
We've tried to see the barn owls, We hear they're quite a sight,
If they come and fly right past us, It means we've chosen right.
Our nightingales have disappeared, And moved some way away,
We've been to hear them singing, And it really made our day.
When we are free to wander, How happy we will be,
We'll meet our friends and family, And have a shopping spree!
