LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
This week out worship is recorded outside Manor Farm near to the Church in Great Paxton. Thank you to Ursula Van Leeuwen-Hill for reading the gospel and giving us her thoughts and reflections on the parable of the mustard seed. This weeks' video was recorded on Annette's phone and as her son Mike was unable to devote too much time to the editing this week, please forgive any little issues!
Please note there will be no video next week (20th June) but there will be one the following week (27th June). Enjoy!
The video this week is for the first Sunday following Trinity and is all about St Paul and his tent making - 'For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a hoouse not made with hands, eternal the heavens' 2 Corinthians 5 v1.
Many thanks to Jean Matheson for reading the gospel and thanks also to Alan Smith for lending Annette his tent in Great Paxton Churchyard - Annette putting up a tent.....it's worth a view!
Enjoy the weather this Bank Holiday as we celebrate Trinity Sunday. The video this week is very mindful of Holy Trinity Church in Great Paxton. Kathy Bishop kindly sings for us and also does a couple of duets with Annette. Also joining Annette is Ursula Van Leeuwen-Hill from Great Paxton and she tells us what the Holy Trinity means to her. See the link below and enjoy!
Here is our Sunday Service for Pentecost Sunday 23rd May 2021. The bellringers are featured, in Little Paxton Tower, ringing for the first time together since March 2020. There is also an interview with Frankie Lovelock who with his colleagues looks after the Little Paxton Churchyard. We are very grateful to Frankie and the team for all their work in keeping the churchyard looking so good. Thanks to Anita too for giving Jimmy Bear a very splendid Pentecost outfit. Enjoy!
This Sunday's YouTube video is very special, not only do we celebrate Ascension-tide (Ascension Day 13th May), but Annette and others from Great Paxton tell the story of the rededication of the WW1 war memorial in Great Paxton churchyard which took place yesterday 15th May 2021 - just over 100 years since it was originally unveiled. Words used during the service held over 100 years ago were incorporated and we were delighted that the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridge, Julie Spence, was able to join us for this occasion along with our St Neots Mayor.
Part two of the morning saw the unveiling of a new blue plaque to the brave Battle of Britain pilot, Philip 'Pip' Cardell, who died in action on 27th September 1940. His plaque is on a wall at Manor Farm where he was born and grew up, now the home of the Hill family. Manor Farm House lies to the north of Great Paxton Churchyard.
Jeff Hill, who loves in Manor Farm House, and David Duker of the Tally-Ho Project in St Neots (group researching the history of WW2 pilots) and Graham James from the local history group, all kindly give short interviews.
At twelve noon, on cue, a spitfire flew overhead! Please see the link below for the video. A sincere thanks to everyone who took part.
