This week we are very fortunate to have been given permission to record our service at St Hugh's Roman Catholic Church at Buckden. Annette has a very special reason for filming at St Hugh's church - many of us know she has a keen interest in local history and this week she enlightens us with the wonderful story of St Hugh, Bishop of Lincoln.
As well as expressing our thanks to the parish priests of Buckden Towers for giving their kind permission to allow us to film inside St Hugh's church, we are extremely grateful to Ann Brittain (Licensed Lay Minister from Buckden) for assisting Annette with the reading, prayers, the story of St Hugh of Lincoln and for telling us about the beautiful stained glass windows.
Here is the link for this weeks' Keeping in Touch newsletter for Sunday 15th November. This week Annette concentrates on St Hugh of Lincoln. As Bishop of Lincoln, he built the Bishop's Palace in Buckden.
Here is the link to the sixth video from Mel in a series focussing on ideas taken from a book called 'Liturgy of the Ordinary' by Tish Harrison Warren. The subject for this weeks' worship is 'Calling a friend', or the importance of having people to walk with us through life and faith.
Mel is conscious of the fact that this video goes out on Armistice Day so there is a short act of remembrance in honour of those who have fought and died in wars, together with the prayer for Remembrance Sunday.
Here is the link to this weeks' Sunday Service for 8th November, Remembrance Sunday. This is a very special and moving service where Annette is joined by Little Paxton Parish Councillors, Jean Matheson, Paul and Kathy Bishop, together with Colin Dawson from Southoe, Trevor Smith from Great Paxton and Dave Dodman from Diddington. We are so grateful to our friends who helped make our Service of Remembrance particularly special.
