LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
I am very pleased to be able to send you Annette’s first benefice YouTube service of the month which is for the Fifth Sunday in Lent, Passion Sunday. Please follow this below to join our service of worship. This month Annette thinks about ‘patience’ and during the service interviews Diane James from Great Paxton. Diane and team have been planning the Millenium Fest 1000 year celebrations and they have had to be very patient as the Festival has been put off so many times due to covid. Diane also talks about the new pew cushions which have taken many months to make and are being made by various crafters in the village and beyond. Jean Matheson kindly reads some verses from St Paul’s letter to the Galatians which remind us of the fruits of the spirit. Big thank you to Diane and Jean for taking part in our service.

In this week’s KIT (attached), Mel gives us her thoughts on the Gospel Reading John 12 v 1-8 – thank you Mel. Also in the KIT is a big thank you to everyone who kindly donated items or money for the DEC Ukrainian Appeal held at Little Paxton Church on 25 March - an amazing sum of £360 was raised. In addition, the Riverside Meadows School in St Neots donated a further £72 which they wished to be added to our total funds raised for the appeal.
Keeping in Touch Edition 102
Hope you have had an opportunity to enjoy some of this beautiful sunshine we have had this week – can’t beat that lovely scent of freshly mown grass everywhere! Please find enclosed our Keeping in Touch (KIT) Edition 101, for the Fourth Sunday in Lent: Mothering Sunday. The KIT includes readings for this day and thoughts from Annette on the interesting history/roots of Mothering Sunday which I am sure you will enjoy. We believe that the problems experienced with our recent livestreaming are sorted and we shall be ‘live’ again on Sunday 3 April 2022.
Keeping in Touch Edition 101
I have to sincerely apologise as we had various technical problems this morning, the main one being problems with our internet link and, as such, have been unable to record or live-stream our Morning Prayer service from St James’ church. Rest assured, we are working on solving the problems that have occurred this week. However, all is not lost, Annette will be putting some of the service on to our Facebook page. Please follow this link to our Facebook page.
Wow! I can’t believe we have reached Kit No 100, which is attached for the Third Sunday in Lent. This week’s readings focus on the Lenten theme of repentance and Annette gives her thoughts on the importance of the gift of Hope in our lives as Christians. Our Morning Prayer service at St James’ Church tomorrow morning will be live-streamed with the hymn words being shown to enable you to take part at home. Do join us by searching on YouTube for Little Paxton Church. However, if you do experience any problems, I will be sending out the link later tomorrow morning. Whilst writing, may I update you on the appeal for Ukraine. At the present time we are not being asked to send any further items, but will let you know if this changes. However, at St James’ Church on Friday 25 March, during the coffee morning (10.30 am – 12 midday), there will be a couple of tables of bric-a-brac/pre-loved items – Do come along if you can and we will hopefully make a few ££s for the DEC Emergency Appeal for Ukraine.
