Annette’s regular (First Sunday of the month) YouTube video which, this week, takes a look at Candlemas and links it in with the creative artwork being done at Great Paxton School this term. Deputy Head, Anne Gallagher, kindly reads the lesson for us about the visit of Jesus to the temple with his parents 40 days after his birth and she also talks about the imaginative artwork the children are doing in Years 1 and 2, focusing on architecture.
Here we are, the Fifth Sunday in Epiphany (also the Fourth Sunday before Lent). This week our Gospel Reading is taken from Luke Chapter 5 v 1 -11, reminding us of the call of the first disciples.

I am pleased to attach this week’s ‘Candlemas’ edition of KIT. 40 days after Christmas (2 February) we celebrate The Feast of Candlemas, or the Presentation of Christ in the Temple when the young Jesus is presented by his parents at the Temple for the first time. On Page 3, Annette shares her thoughts on Candlemas and our Gospel is taken from the second chapter of Luke.
You will see in the KIT that Sunday 30 January is a fifth Sunday and, therefore, Benefice Songs of Praise will take place at 10.30 am, Southoe.
Keep an eye open for Mel’s regular monthly mid-week YouTube service, Annette’s Benefice YouTube service which will be with you for the first Sunday of the month (Sunday 6 February) and our next live-stream service from St James’ Church will be on Sunday 13 February.
