LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
Annette says, 'I had the pleasure of sharing the screen with Ursula Van Leeuwen-Hill from Manor Farm at Great Paxton and we share some words and thoughts on All Saints Day on 1st November. We were accompanied by a large pumpkin, borrowed from the Great Paxton Community Shop and Ursula's black cat, Tosca, was the star of the show.'
The recording begins with the lively hymn, Shine Jesus Shine, Ursula reads a passage from Romans Chapter 8 and she finishes with a lovely prayer for all those who are young at heart, on the theme of Saints. Thank you Ursula.

Here is this week's newsletter for Sunday 31st October 2021. Do take a look
Here is our weekly newsletter for Sunday 24th October 2021. This weeks' gospel reading is from Mark Chapter 10 vs 46-52 recording the time when Jesus healed a blind beggar called Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus was one of the few people whom Jesus healed who is actually named. This could have been because he followed Jesus immediately after his healing and went on to serve in the early Christian Church. Although blind, he was gifted with the insight to discern that Jesus had been sent by God in the world.
His physical healing was an outward sign of his inward healing and wholeness. His passionate cry of 'Son of David, have mercy on me', meant that Jesus to him was the longed for Messiah who would rescue his people from oppression and individuals from their sinful ways.
Annette asks, 'Do we always have the time to look with fresh eyes on our world? Do we always have the time to seek fresh insights into how we live our lives and relate to other people? Every day too, there can be new glimpses of the ways that God is working in our lives?'
Here is the newsletter for Sunday 17th october 2021 which has the Gospel reading taken from St Mark Chapter 10 vs 35-45. Annette reflects on ho is the greatest...'Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory' and invites us to think about ourselves in the context of 'Where do you want to sit?' Where do we see our place in society, in our workplaces and families, and in our churches?
This week our service is set in St James' Church, Little Paxton and Annette reflects on camels, needles and our attitude to money. The opening song is the Harvest Samba and is sung by children from Years 1 and 2 at Little Paxton Primary School, and closes with another charming Harvest song. These have been reproduced with kind permission from the school. We were very lucky to be able to invite the children back into the church for Harvest celebrations after a two year gap because of Covid. It was wonderful to hear them in church.
