LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
This week for Rogation Sunday, Annette visits Debbie McKenzie at the Environmental Education Centre at Paxton Pits and learns all about the '#30 days wild initiative', and Kathy Bishop reads our lesson from Luke's Gospel and tells us about Little Paxton Community Garden. Thank you to both for taking part.
Rogation Sunday is traditionally a time of blessing the crops and praying for a fruitful harvest. The days leading up to Ascension Day (13th May 2021) were called Rogation days and were also regarded as days to fast and prepare for celebrating Jesus' ascension into heaven.

This weeks Keeping in Touch newsletter is for Sunday 9th May 2021. This is Rogation Sunday - traditionally a time of blessing the crops and praying for a fruitful harvest. The days leading up to Ascension Day (13th May 2021) were called Rogation days and were also regarded as days to fast and prepare for celebrating Jesus' ascension into heaven. Do take a look at the information within the newsletter about Christian Aid week which is coming up this week.
Christian Aid is a wonderful cause that St James Church, and churches in the surrounding areas, have tried to support each year. Considering covid regulations this year, we have organised an online profile that you can access to raise money through St James Church, Little Paxton.
Join us in supporting this cause, whilst the fight against coronavirus and climate change across the world continues. Please think about giving a donation in these difficult times.

Mel is back with her Wednesday worship! From this week onwards, Mel will be producing a wednesday worship on the first wednesday of every month. The worship of this week is a celebration of spring! Please follow the link below to join Mel - the service includes her superb reflections on spring.
This week is the fifth sunday of Easter and our Gospel reading comes from John Chapter 15, verses 1-8. Jesus said to his disciples, 'I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-grower. He reoves every branch in my that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit....'
Annette visited Trevor Smith in his garden this week at Great Paxton. Trevor grows vines and Annette learns a great deal about the care of grape vines. Thank you Trevor for reading the gospel and kindly talking to us about your grape vines.
